TANF recipients or dependent children with more than 10 unexcused absences during a school year become ineligible for TANF assistance until they complete a semester with 10 or fewer unexcused absences

Parents or essential persons receiving TANF on behalf of a dependent child must provide the child's school name, consent to release of attendance records, and sign an agreement to attend an annual teacher conference

Failure of a parent or essential person to attend the required annual teacher conference results in the dependent child losing TANF eligibility until the beginning of the next school year

Schools must notify the Division of Family Resources when a TANF recipient or dependent child exceeds 10 unexcused absences, withdraws, graduates, is expelled, or when a parent fails to attend a required teacher conference

Repeals the previous provision that allowed TANF revocation or suspension after only 3 unexcused absences and replaces it with the new 10-absence threshold
