Defines "micro market" as an unstaffed, self-checkout retail food establishment with displays not exceeding 250 linear feet, a payment kiosk, and located in a restricted-access business or public building not primarily used as a food establishment.

Allows micro markets to operate without a person in charge present if they maintain 24-hour video surveillance with sufficient resolution to identify consumers, maintain recordings for 7 days available for state inspection, and use self-checkout equipment that matches purchases to consumers.

Restricts micro market sales to prepackaged food or fruit only, with prepackaged items requiring nutritional information and freshness/expiration dates on packaging.

Requires refrigerated or frozen food storage in coolers or freezers that maintain food-safe temperatures, have self-closing and viewing windows, and include automatic locks that engage upon temperature or mechanical failure.

Effective July 1, 2013; amends Indiana Code sections IC 16-18-2 and IC 16-42-5-30.
