Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 11 Summary

• Urges the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) to rename the northbound Interstate 69 bridge over the Patoka River at mile marker 37.81 (bridge number I-69-26-9462) the Trooper William J. "Joe" Trees Memorial Bridge

• Honors Trooper William J. Trees, an Indiana State Police officer who was killed in a traffic accident on June 26, 1972 while pursuing a traffic violator

• Recognizes Trees' service record, including his appointment as a state trooper on September 1, 1968, assignment to the Evansville post, and community involvement with the Jaycees, teen center, little league baseball, and his church

• Notes that Trees left behind his wife Marsha, an 18-month-old daughter named Jodi Lynn, and an unborn son William Joseph Trees, Jr., who was three months away from birth at the time of his death
