HB 1030 Summary

• Requires child care providers to be licensed or registered as a condition of eligibility for federal Child Care and Development Fund voucher payments.

• Providers caring for 1 to 16 non-relative children must be licensed as a child care home under IC 12-17.2-5.

• Providers caring for more than 16 non-relative children must be licensed as a child care center under IC 12-17.2-4.

• School age child care programs located in school buildings that comply with state regulatory requirements are considered in compliance with chapter requirements.

• Effective date: July 1, 2014.
