IN HB1100

Amends IC 13-21-3-12 to add oversight requirements for solid waste management districts in counties with populations between 400,000 and 700,000 (Lake County).

Requires the county district to submit a recommendation to the county executive before exercising powers related to constructing/operating facilities, entering contracts, leasing facilities, acquiring property, selling/leasing facilities, accepting gifts/grants/loans, or borrowing in anticipation of taxes.

Mandates the county executive adopt an ordinance approving the recommendation and authorizing the district to exercise the specified power before the district may proceed.

Effective date: July 1, 2014.
