House Bill 1101 Summary

• Amends IC 6-1.1-24-3 to allow county auditors to publish an abridged tax sale notice in newspapers that omits property descriptions if the notice states descriptions are available online and in printed form.

• County auditors must still post notices at the county courthouse or public county building at least 21 days before the earliest judgment application date.

• Abridged notices must include a statement that property descriptions are available on the county government's Internet website and may be obtained in printed form from the county auditor upon request.

• Property descriptions must actually be made available on the county's Internet website and in printed form from the county auditor to use the abridged notice option.

• Effective date is July 1, 2014.
