Increases maximum speed limit from 65 to 70 miles per hour for vehicles with a declared gross weight greater than 26,000 pounds on interstate and defense highways located outside urbanized areas with a population of at least 50,000.

Increases maximum speed limit from 65 to 70 miles per hour for vehicles with a declared gross weight greater than 26,000 pounds on highways under the responsibility of the Indiana finance authority.

Amends IC 9-21-5-2 to create a new speed limit category specifically for larger motor vehicles while maintaining existing limits for other vehicle classes.

Becomes effective July 1, 2014.
