HB 1192 Summary

• Court clerks shall collect a $10 county 911 administration fee and a $2 law enforcement academy fee for each criminal, infraction, and ordinance violation that is a traffic offense.

• County 911 administration fees are deposited into county 911 administration funds that may be used only for installing, operating, maintaining, and upgrading 911 communication systems.

• Law enforcement academy fees are deposited into the law enforcement academy fund, which is distributed monthly as: 50% to the Indiana law enforcement academy in Plainfield, 25% to the northwest Indiana academy in Hobart, and 25% to the southwest Indiana academy in Evansville.

• A county 911 administration fund is established in each county and administered by the county auditor.

• Effective date: July 1, 2014.
