• Allows individuals to request that the bureau of motor vehicles place a notation on their driver's license or identification card indicating they possess a lifetime handgun license issued under IC 35-47-2.

• Requires the bureau to verify a lifetime handgun license status by contacting the superintendent of the state police department, who shall conduct a background investigation and report findings to the bureau.

• Applicants must indicate on their application whether they wish to have the lifetime handgun license notation appear on their license or permit, and the bureau shall maintain records of this information.

• The bureau shall place the handgun license indication on the license or identification card only after the superintendent verifies the individual actually possesses a lifetime handgun license.

• Effective July 1, 2014.
