IN HB1346

Establishes a single county executive position for counties with populations between 300,000 and 400,000 that approve a public referendum under IC 36-2-2.4.

Creates a county council with nine (9) single-member districts to serve as the legislative body in counties adopting the single county executive structure, effective January 1, 2019.

Allows counties with a single county executive to revert to a three (3) member board of county commissioners through voter approval under IC 36-2-2.7.

Transfers all property, assets, funds, equipment, records, rights, contracts, obligations, and liabilities from the abolished board of county commissioners to the single county executive on January 1, 2019.

Updates ballot placement requirements and election procedures for primary and general elections to account for single county executive offices and revised district structures.
