IN HB1382

Establishes Class A misdemeanor penalty for knowingly or intentionally failing to stop or comply with accident scene duties after causing injury to another person.

Enhances penalty to Level 6 felony if accident results in bodily injury to another person, or if person had prior conviction of certain traffic offenses within 5 years.

Establishes Level 5 felony if accident results in serious bodily injury to another person.

Establishes Level 4 felony if accident results in death of a person.

Establishes Level 3 felony if person knowingly or intentionally fails to stop after committing operating while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury.

Amends IC 9-26-1-8 effective July 1, 2014.
