Salem High School marching band won the Indiana State School Music Association 2013 Scholastic B State Championship on October 26 at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis.

The band's winning show was titled "It's About Time" with music by J.R. Trimpe, featuring repertoire including "Tick Tock," "Hourglass," and "Chronos."

The band also placed first in Class A at three invitationals: Paoli, North Harrison, and Floyd Central, with multiple awards for music, visual performance, general effect, percussion, and auxiliary.

Band directors Bonnie Harmon and Richard L. Trueblood receive special recognition for leading the band to excellence.

The Indiana General Assembly congratulates the Salem High School Marching Lions and directs the Principal Clerk to transmit a copy of the resolution to band directors, drum major Wade LaHue, principal Derek Smith, and Superintendent Dr. D. Lynn Reed.
