The Indiana General Assembly recognizes Indiana State University's dedication to community service by its faculty, staff, and students.

Indiana State University ranked first among 284 national universities in the 2013 Washington Monthly College Guide for community service participation and hours worked.

During 2012-2013, the university provided 1.2 million hours of service through volunteer work, service learning, internships, and community-based learning activities valued at $8,000,000.

The university served 115 community partners including businesses, K-12 schools, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, international NGOs, and public agencies in developing service learning projects.

Indiana State University has been recognized by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and has made the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll every year since 2006.
