Ray Ewry was born October 14, 1873, in Lafayette, Indiana, overcame polio as a child, and led Purdue University's varsity track team to its first national title

Competed in four Olympic Games (Paris 1900, St. Louis 1904, Athens 1906, London 1908) and won 10 gold medals, making him the second most successful Olympian after Michael Phelps with 11 medals

Used his engineering degree from Purdue to build dams and reservoirs for the New York Board of Water Supply that currently provide drinking water to over 8 million residents

Requires the Principal Clerk of the House to transmit a copy of the resolution to Ray Ewry's family and the Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Transportation
