Indiana House of Representatives congratulates Brown County Junior High School's "We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution" team on their achievements and wishes them continued success.

Brown County Junior High School won the state championship on December 17 at the Crowne Plaza Union Station in Indianapolis, defeating 11 other schools for the fourth consecutive year.

Team will represent Indiana at the second annual "We the People" Middle School National Invitational at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia from April 4-8, 2014, defending the national title won by last year's team.

The "We the People" program, developed by the Center for Civic Education and funded by the U.S. Department of Education, teaches students in grades 4-12 about U.S. democracy history and constitutional principles through coursework and competitive hearings.

Principal Clerk of the House shall transmit copies of the resolution to 23 named team members and coach Michael Potts.
