The Indiana House of Representatives recognizes the Sister Soldier Network, an organization founded by Dr. Doty Simpson-Taylor in 2009 to support black women veterans.

The Sister Soldier Network identifies and records the service of black women veterans, offers informational sessions for black women veterans, and develops collaborations with faith-based community organizations.

Black women have served in every U.S. military engagement since the Civil War despite facing major adversity and historically underrecognized contributions.

The Sister Soldier Network works to mobilize, engage, and support the health and well-being of military families and veterans through bridge-building initiatives.

The Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Sister Soldier Network.
