Indiana House of Representatives recognizes Billy Frank Hendley's accomplishments and service to Indiana and the United States.

Hendley served in the Indiana Army National Guard from April 29, 1956 to June 16, 1966 with three consecutive enlistments, earning the Sharpshooter (Rifle) Badge three times and achieving the rank of Sergeant (SP5 E-5).

Hendley was activated on January 17, 1965, under Special Orders number 42 Paragraph 13 by Governor Roger D. Branigin to respond to a snow emergency affecting Indianapolis and vicinity.

Hendley worked for the Military Department of Indiana from 1956 to 1965 in various positions and later became a successful entrepreneur, owning a Philip 66 service station and Bill's Upholstery Shop in Franklin, Indiana, which he expanded to Providence and Bargersville.

The Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives shall transmit a copy of this resolution to Billy Frank Hendley and his family.
