Representative Mark Messmer, first elected to House District 63 in 2008, is retiring at the end of the 2014 legislative session.

Messmer served on the Financial Institutions Committee, Public Policy Committee, as Chairman of the Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development Committee, and the Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee.

Messmer graduated from Jasper High School in 1981 and Purdue University in May 1985 with a mechanical engineering degree and is a licensed professional engineer.

Messmer is married to Kim, has four children (Eric, Laura, Madeline, and Luke), co-owns Messmer Mechanical with his two brothers, and is active in Jasper Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts of America, and serves as a music minister at Holy Family Catholic Church.

The Indiana House of Representatives bids farewell to Representative Messmer and directs the Principal Clerk to transmit copies of this resolution to him and his family.
