Tri-West High School softball team defeated Yorktown 7-4 to win the Class 3A state championship at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis.

Team achieved a 25-4 season record and a 14-game winning streak, with the lead changing hands three times during the championship game.

Bruins scored two runs in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh to win the school's first softball state championship under second-year coach Stacey Rogers.

Alyssa Clark won the Mental Attitude Award in Class 3A Softball from the Indiana High School Athletic Association's Executive Committee.

Indiana House of Representatives congratulates the team and directs the Principal Clerk to transmit copies of the resolution to each team member, head coach Stacey Rogers, athletic director Don Dorrell, principal Adam Benner, and superintendent Rusty King.
