SB 16 Summary

• Requires the entire brewing process of beer to occur in Indiana for a brewery to qualify as a microbrewery.

• Allows small brewers to sell beer to consumers for carryout at nonprofit farmers' markets in quantities of not more than 576 ounces per consumer at any one time.

• Permits microbreweries to participate in trade shows or expositions for not more than 45 days in a calendar year with alcohol and tobacco commission approval.

• Allows artisan distillery permit holders who also hold microbrewery permits to hold retailer permits for restaurants.

• Makes an exception allowing artisan distillery, distillery, and rectifier permit holders to own stock or interests in retail alcohol beverage businesses under specified conditions.
