Senate Bill No. 141 Summary

• Declares any federal act, decree, injunction, law, opinion, order, rule, regulation, or statute found by the Indiana General Assembly to be inconsistent with the Constitution of the United States is void in Indiana.

• Grants Indiana residents a private right of action to enjoin enforcement or implementation of federal laws declared void by the General Assembly, with prevailing plaintiffs entitled to recover reasonable attorney's fees and costs.

• Makes knowingly or intentionally implementing or enforcing a federal law declared void by the General Assembly a Level 6 felony.

• Removes language stating that English common law and certain British Parliamentary statutes are governing Indiana law.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage, with an emergency declared for the act.
