Bureau of Motor Vehicles must design and issue Vietnam veterans license plates beginning January 1, 2015.

Vietnam veterans are defined as individuals who served in the armed forces of the United States at any time from August 5, 1964, through May 7, 1975.

Eligible Indiana residents may apply for Vietnam veterans plates by presenting a discharge certificate, armed forces identification card, or uniformed services retiree identification card.

Vietnam veterans license plates may be displayed on passenger motor vehicles, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, and trucks with declared gross weight not exceeding 11,000 pounds.

Vehicles registered under the Vietnam veterans plate are subject to annual registration fees and any other fees or taxes required for vehicle registration.
