IN SB0190

Amends Indiana Code IC 20-29 to allow district-wide and school-wide committees with mixed membership (both union members and non-members) to address subjects of collective bargaining.

Limits the exclusive representative's appointment percentage on committees to match the percentage of teachers in the school corporation or school who are union members, rounded up to the nearest whole number.

Entitles all bargaining unit members to vote on collective bargaining agreements, regardless of whether they are members of the exclusive representative union.

Requires the local union president or designee to certify by affidavit to the school employer by September 15 of each school year the number of teachers who are union members.

Becomes effective July 1, 2014.
