Amends IC 35-50-2-11 to add burglary (IC 35-43-2-1) as a qualifying offense for firearm enhancement sentencing.

Permits courts to impose an additional fixed term of five years imprisonment if a person knowingly or intentionally used a firearm while committing burglary or certain felonies.

Requires the state to prove firearm use beyond a reasonable doubt through a separate enhancement hearing before a jury or judge.

Applies to persons convicted of burglary, kidnapping, criminal confinement (Level 2 or 3 felony), or felonies under IC 35-42.

Effective date: July 1, 2014.
