IN SB0301

Prohibits political subdivisions from regulating the possession, carrying, transportation, sale, purchase, transfer, licensing, registration, or use of knives or knife components.

Prevents political subdivisions from adopting ordinances, rules, or policies concerning knife manufacturing that are more restrictive than regulations applied to other commercial goods.

Voids any existing or future ordinances, rules, policies, or regulations by political subdivisions that pertain to knife regulation, including those enacted before, on, or after June 30, 2014.

Defines "knife" as a cutting instrument, including a sharpened or pointed blade, and applies to all political subdivisions as defined in Indiana Code.

Becomes effective July 1, 2014.
