Urges the Indiana Department of Transportation to rename U.S. 20 in Lake County in honor of the late Mayor Rudolph "Rudy" Clay

Rudolph Clay served as Mayor of Gary, Indiana from 2006 to 2011, and was the first African-American Lake County Democratic Party Chairman (2005-2009)

Clay held multiple elected positions over four decades, including Indiana State Senator for the 3rd District (elected 1972, the only African-American Senator at the time), Lake County Council member (1978-1984), and Lake County Recorder (1984)

Clay was born July 16, 1935 in Alabama, served two years in the U.S. Army, and marched with Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. at Gage Park in Chicago during the 1960s

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit copies of the resolution to INDOT and Clay's family
