Honors Senator Lindel Hume upon his retirement after 40 years of service as an Indiana legislator (served in the House from 1974-1982 and the Senate starting in 1982)

Senator Hume represented Senate District 48, encompassing all or portions of Dubois, Gibson, Knox, Pike, Spencer, and Warrick counties, and held the position of Senate Minority Whip

Key legislative achievements include the distressed roads fund, 1977 Police and Firefighters Pension Fund, criminal code revision, long-term disability program for state employees, redistricting measures, and implementation of the Indiana Senate's first high-tech electronic legislative software

Senator Hume earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics from Oakland City University and an honorary Doctor of Laws degree in 2004, and had a successful corporate career at Potter & Brumfield and Siemens from 1999-2007

The Indiana Senate directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit copies of this resolution to Senator Hume acknowledging his achievements and wishing him well in future endeavors
