• Amends IC 9-25 to modify how the Bureau of Motor Vehicles requests proof of financial responsibility from drivers involved in accidents.

• Bureau must send a first request for evidence of financial responsibility within 45 days of receiving an accident report, giving drivers 40 days to respond, regardless of fault in the accident.

• Bureau must send a second request to drivers who fail to respond to the first request, warning them that failure to provide evidence within 40 days will result in suspension of driving privileges or vehicle registration.

• Bureau sends notice of suspension to drivers who fail to respond to the second request; all requests and notices must be sent by first class mail to the driver's address on file.

• Repeals the previous detailed requirements for request content and consolidates requirements into a single amended section effective July 1, 2015.
