Leo High School girls softball team won the Indiana High School Athletic Association Class 3A state softball title with a 2-0 victory over Gibson Southern High School, the school's first state title in any sport.

Junior pitcher Lindsey Bowers pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing only four hits and striking out five batters.

Leo scored their first run on an error in the first inning and their second run in the sixth inning when freshman Makayla Hissong scored on a sacrifice fly by Hannah Risser.

Head coach Ben Shappell led the Lions to a 27-6 record during the season.

The Indiana General Assembly congratulates the team and directs the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives to transmit a copy of the resolution to team members, coaching staff, principal Neal Brown III, and superintendent Dr. Kenneth H. Folks.
