Indiana General Assembly recognizes Elder Heart, a nonprofit veteran-run organization founded by Magnus Johnson to help veterans heal from war through art creation.

Magnus Johnson served 8 years in the Army and Special Forces, including more than 28 months in combat, and partnered with local artist Jim Connor to create public art pieces built by veterans.

Elder Heart's art projects serve as bridges between veterans and their communities, helping ease the difficult transition from military to civilian life.

The resolution acknowledges that 22 American veterans commit suicide daily and that many veterans face invisible wounds, unemployment, and barriers to seeking help due to PTSD and traumatic brain injury stigma.

The Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives shall transmit a copy of the resolution to Elder Heart.
