Recognizes Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the first sorority established by African American collegewomen, founded at Howard University in Washington, D.C. in 1908 and expanded to 850 chapters internationally.

Notes that Indiana hosts 22 Alpha Kappa Alpha chapters on college and university campuses with active alumnae groups throughout the state.

Acknowledges the sorority's community service initiatives including education, health, the economy, arts, and family support through programs such as Emerging Young Leaders, Alzheimer's disease and caregiver support, mental health, childhood hunger, and environmental ownership.

Recognizes Central Regional Director Kathy A. Walker-Steele, State Connection Chair Vanessa J. Summers, and members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Day at the Capitol for their community work.

Directs the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives to transmit a copy of the resolution to the recognized individuals and organization members.
