The Delaware County Prevention Council formed the Delaware County PRIDE Team youth division in 1995 to give youth an active role in advocating for issues affecting them directly

The PRIDE Team consists of 39 students representing all eight high schools in Delaware County, selected through a competitive process based on application, essay, interview, talent, and dedication to promoting an alcohol-, drug-, and tobacco-free lifestyle

Team members deliver their anti-substance abuse message to local youth through public speaking, drama, dance, and song, reaching more than 4,000 area students during October's "National Substance Abuse Prevention Month" and "Red Ribbon Week" events

The Delaware County PRIDE Team volunteers at various school and community events throughout the year, serving as a positive resource and influence on Delaware County citizens

The Indiana House of Representatives acknowledges the team's outstanding work and directs the Principal Clerk to transmit copies of this resolution to Pat Hart, the Delaware County Prevention Council, and the Delaware County PRIDE Team
