Bonnie Strycker served as Executive Director of the Youth Service Bureau of St. Joseph County for nearly 40 years, retiring in May 2015.

She joined the Youth Service Bureau staff in 1974, two years after its founding in 1972, and was appointed Executive Director in 1977.

Her work helped more than 9,000 young people find safety at Safe Station while connecting with youth in schools and on streets and assisting young mothers in crisis.

Strycker earned a bachelor's degree from Purdue University in 1969, a master's in Counseling from Indiana University South Bend in 1976, and a certification in Executive Management from the University of Notre Dame in 2002.

The House of Representatives congratulates Strycker on her retirement and directs the Principal Clerk to transmit a copy of the resolution to her and her three daughters: Theresa, Maggie, and Maureen.
