Recognizes Spirit Cheer of Evansville, Indiana, for raising awareness about the value of children with disabilities through performances and community engagement.

Spirit Cheer comprises 26 special-needs girls ages 8-18 who meet each fall to choreograph and perform dance and cheer routines at community sporting events over a six-month period.

Squad is led by sisters and head coaches Kendra Scheller and Karen Shields, who founded the program in 2008 with volunteer coaches and community support.

Squad practices one hour per week beginning in late September and scheduled nine performances for the season; Cheer Zone in Evansville provides the practice facility free of charge.

Secretary of the Senate is directed to transmit copies of the resolution to each Spirit Cheer squad member and head coaches Kendra Scheller and Karen Shields.
