• Greater Lafayette Honor Flight is a member of the Honor Flight Network, a non-profit organization with 133 regional hubs providing free transportation to veterans to visit war memorials in Washington, D.C.

• Program commenced in October 2011 after Pamela Mow, State President of Indiana Gold Star Mothers, sought to honor her son Corporal Cody Putman, killed in Iraq on April 12, 2007.

• Inaugural flight on April 16, 2012 transported 80 World War II veterans, guardians, and staff; program has since completed nine flights transporting 720 total veterans with three additional flights carrying 255 veterans scheduled for 2015.

• Indiana General Assembly recognizes and thanks the Greater Lafayette Honor Flight program's Board of Directors and volunteer network for their dedication in serving Indiana's veterans.

• Secretary of the Senate is directed to transmit copies of the resolution to Founder and Co-President Pamela Mow, Co-President Mayor Tony Roswarski, and Gold Star Mothers Dana Vann and Marilyn Frantz.
