Amends Indiana Code IC 20-30-5-13 to require accredited schools to emphasize the necessity of obtaining consent from the other individual involved before engaging in any type of sexual activity when providing human sexuality instruction.

Maintains existing requirements that schools teach abstinence from sexual activity outside of marriage as the expected standard for school-age children.

Continues requirement that instruction include abstinence as the only certain way to avoid out-of-wedlock pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, and other associated health problems.

Maintains requirement that instruction include information about establishing a mutually faithful monogamous relationship in the context of marriage as the best way to avoid sexually transmitted diseases.

Effective date: July 1, 2016.
