HCR 1030 Summary

• Indiana General Assembly resolution memorializing Mark St. John, who passed away at age 62 after dedicating more than 37 years to serving social and human service needs populations.

• Mark St. John advocated for abused and neglected children, at-risk youth, the LGBT community, homeless persons, families in distress, migrant and seasonal farm workers, persons with HIV/AIDS, people with mental illnesses, senior citizens, people with disabilities, and low-income households.

• He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in public affairs from Indiana University's School of Public and Environmental Affairs and established his own governmental affairs consulting firm, St. John & Associates.

• Mark St. John was actively involved with numerous community and professional organizations including the Boy Scouts, Children's Coalition of Indiana, Indiana Stonewall Democrats, and the Greater Indianapolis NAACP Branch.

• The Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives shall transmit a copy of this resolution to Mark St. John's family.
