Highlights Townsend's military service beginning at age 16 when he enlisted in the United States Army and his later return to Newberry at age 18 to earn his GED and reenlist as the highest noncommissioned officer in the U.S. Army

Directs the Principal Clerk of the House to transmit a copy of the resolution to Lieutenant Colonel Townsend's family and the Indiana Department of Transportation commissioner
