Indiana General Assembly recognizes Coach Jim Belden for his accomplishments as a teacher, coach, and public servant and his dedicated service to Hamilton County and the state of Indiana

Coach Belden was born February 4, 1939, in Battle Creek, Michigan, served in the United States Navy, and earned a bachelor's degree from Butler University and a master's degree from Ball State University

Coached at Westfield, Noblesville, and Carmel high schools in Hamilton County for over 30 years; his Noblesville teams won nine Sagamore Conference titles and his Carmel Greyhounds won four state titles during his 17-year tenure

Served as Hamilton County Councilman for 23 years after retiring from coaching
