Legislative Description

Annexation. Adds the following requirements for certain municipality initiated annexations: (1) A municipality must give notice of the adoption of the annexation ordinance to the county executive. (2) If any member of the county executive objects, the annexation ordinance is void unless a majority of the county executive adopts a resolution approving the annexation. (3) A remonstrance must be filed by landowners within 120 days (instead of 90 days) after publication of notice. (4) In the absence of remonstrance or appeal, the annexation becomes effective 120 days (instead of 90 days) or later after publication of the annexation ordinance. (5)
