Sharon Kish is retiring as President of the United Way of Porter County after 15 years of service, during which she oversaw the development and maintenance of health and human services networks in Porter County.

Under Kish's leadership, the United Way of Porter County grew and developed programs including the Success by Six Program, which provides developmental support to children from birth to age six.

Kish has held leadership positions in numerous professional organizations including the Rotary Club of Valparaiso, Porter County Community Foundation, Indiana Association of United Ways, and Purdue University North Central Chancellor's Advisory Committee.

Kish has received professional honors including the 2010 Quality of Life Council Community Award, 2011 Woman of Influence award, and 2000 Lakeland College Woman of Achievement award.

The Indiana General Assembly honors Sharon Kish upon her retirement, and the Secretary of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of the resolution to her.
