James G. McIntire served as Executive Vice President of the Indiana State Medical Association since 2006, leading the largest physician member organization in Indiana for 18 years.

McIntire managed a staff of 28 individuals providing professional services, educational programs, and advocacy for nearly 8,000 physician members.

During his tenure, the Indiana State Medical Association successfully supported legislative health initiatives including the Healthy Indiana Plan, statewide smoking ban in public buildings, expansion of graduate medical education, infant mortality reduction, and controlled substance prescribing education.

The Indiana State Medical Association House of Delegates expressed heartfelt gratitude to McIntire on September 13, 2015, for his leadership and dedication to advancing the medical profession in Indiana.

The Secretary of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of the resolution to James G. McIntire and the Indiana State Medical Association.
