The Indiana General Assembly honors Larry Parker for his 36-year tenure on the Richmond Common Council and his service to the local community.

Parker was first elected to Richmond Common Council in 1980 and was re-elected nine times before retiring in 2015.

Parker served as the longest consecutively serving Republican in Wayne County and held the position of council president for several terms while working with six Richmond mayors.

Parker graduated from Richmond High School in 1958 and received his B.A. from Murray State University in 1965, then taught at Modoc School and Dennis Junior High School before founding and managing Bumblebee Quick Print for 25 years.

The Secretary of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to Larry Parker.
