Honors Senator Brent Steele upon his retirement from the Indiana State Senate after serving District 44 since 2004, representing parts of Brown, Bartholomew, Jackson, Monroe, and Lawrence Counties.

Recognizes Steele's legislative achievements including five years rewriting Indiana's criminal code, authoring death penalty and life without parole provisions for violent crimes, establishing sex and violent offender registry, and expanding rape statute of limitations.

Acknowledges Steele's support for Second Amendment rights through the Shooting Range Protection Act and co-authoring the Personal Carry Preemption Law, Right to Carry at Employment Law, and Lifetime Carry Permit Law.

Notes Steele's additional accomplishments including passage of the Veteran Funeral Protection Bill, rewriting the Land Partition Law, and authoring the Unclaimed Property Bill, plus his previous service in the Indiana House of Representatives from 1995-2002 as Republican Whip.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit a copy of the resolution to Senator Steele and his family.
