Legislative Description
General fund referendum; school facilities. Provides that voters in a general fund referendum for a political subdivision that takes place after June 30, 2017, may not approve a levy that is imposed for more than eight years. (Current law provides that voters in a general fund referendum may not approve a levy that is imposed for more than seven years.) Provides that a political subdivision seeking to issue bonds or enter into a lease for a proposed controlled project may promote a position on the local public question at facilities owned by the political subdivision.
