Winchester Community High School band won the 2016 Indiana State Fair Band Day competition on August 6, 2016, competing against 49 Indiana marching bands statewide.

Band placed first in Class AAA and received the Best Music and Visual General Effect awards at the State Fair competition.

Winchester band has previously won the State Fair Band Day competition in 1997, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2015.

Color guard competed in Class AA during the Indiana High School Color Guard Association's winter season with the show "Pinky Swear" and earned multiple gold and silver ranks at various contests.

Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives shall transmit a copy of this resolution to band members, director Douglas R. Fletcher, assistant directors Jeremiah Boes and Amy Fletcher, and school administrators.
