Left undiagnosed and untreated, moyamoya can cause catastrophic neurological damage including strokes, weakness, paralysis, aphasia, vision problems, and reduced cognitive ability

Surgery is necessary to prevent mental decline and recurrent strokes as the affected arteries continue to narrow

The Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of the resolution to the Governor's office
