Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran High School won the Class 3A state football championship on November 26, 2016, defeating Lawrenceburg Tigers 56-14 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis in their first appearance in a state title game.

The Cadets won 11 straight games entering the championship and scored the first 49 points, leading 21-0 after the first quarter.

Head coach Tim Mannigel's team set eight championship game records and tied four others, including most passing touchdowns (team): 6 and most passing touchdowns (individual): 6 by Peter Morrison.

The team compiled a 13-2 overall season record through total team effort by all players, managers, and coaching staff.

The Indiana General Assembly congratulates the Concordia Lutheran Cadets and directs the Principal Clerk of the House to transmit a resolution copy to all team members, coaches, managers, and school administrators.
