Recognizes Helping Hands for Freedom, a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) organization co-founded in 2009 by retired Staff Sergeant Patrick Shannon to provide financial assistance to military children and families.

Organization provides support to military families dealing with death, deployment, and loss, assists severely wounded veterans needing equipment or housing modifications, and offers life enrichment programs, mentoring, and counseling to children.

Won the 2015 Lincoln Award from the Southwest Veterans Chamber of Commerce as the top military charity.

In 2016, organization completed a 3,100-mile walk from Atlantic City, New Jersey to San Francisco (April 28 to August 26) led by David Roth and Kevin Winton to raise awareness and funds for a planned retreat house and PTSD center in central Indiana.

Directs the Principal Clerk of the House to transmit a copy of the resolution to Eric Snelz, CEO/Executive Director of Helping Hands for Freedom.
