• Indiana House of Representatives recognizes Dr. Wilbur Williams, a professor of Biblical Literature and Archaeology at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, who has taught for over 50 years and instructed 17,250 students.

• Dr. Williams has been elected "Professor of the Year" eight times by his students, most recently in 2009 and 2010, and has participated in archaeological excavations in Israel and North Africa including Arad, Aphek, Jerusalem, Carthage, Lachish, Megiddo, Jezreel, and Hazor.

• He regularly leads four to five groups during summers to tour Bible lands or conduct archaeological work, with 2017 marking his 156th trip to Bible lands, and previously worked as circulation manager for a New York newspaper with 300,000 circulation and hosted a daily 45-minute radio call-in show.

• Dr. and Mrs. Williams donated the Williams Prayer Chapel and Jesus sculptures to Indiana Wesleyan University's campus and received recognition as a "Distinguished Hoosier" by former Governor Mitch Daniels and a sterling silver 1585 world map from Israel's Ministry of Tourism.
